Stree G.G.Mehta Adhyapan Mandir Chitrasani

One energy was born in the house of Shri Mangaldas Shrof and Shrimati Sadlaxmiben Shrof at Surat on Dt. 31/12/1915, whose name was kept as Vimalaben. She was inspired by the thoughts of Gandhi from the age of 10 years and became child soldier in ‘Swadeshi’ movement for freedom. She married with Shri G.G.Mehta in the born rich and awful family at the age of 17 years on Dt.18/12/1932. She went to England with husband at the age of 23 years. There also she continued study. During world war in 1939 she returned back to mother-land and obtained degree of B.A. Till then movement for freedom was going on in full force and Mehta family started taking part in movement for freedom and were imprisoned also. She was first Indian lady to wave ‘triranga’ flag in Yeravada Jail on Dt.26/1/1943. In 1947 after freedom Gandhiji directed that still freedom has not reached up to villages , therefore go upto the depth of villages and stuck there. By the inspiration of ‘Bhudan Yagna campaign by venerable Vinoba Bhave, Palanpur Nawab Iqbal Mohmedkhan donated 50 ‘bighas’ land to venerable Vimalaben. On doing social service by rallies on foot, established Balaram Saghanxetra Samiti and made Banaskantha as her field of activity, remained effortful for upliftment of the organization and on Dt.24/03/2000 ‘Pujya Ba’ expired
